UK’s Helicopter Museum receives FAI accreditation 18.04.2019

The Helicopter Club of Great Britain has successfully nominated the Helicopter Museum in Weston super Mare to be awarded accreditation to the FAI ‘Recommended venue for education’.

The museum was founded by Elfan ap Rees back in the late 1950s with the collection expanding so much that it moved in the current museum in 1978. There are more than 80 exhibits on show as well as restoration programmes, in short it is the latest collection of helicopters in the world including the Queens Flight, G-LYNX (the current world speed record holder) as well as a whole host of impressively preserved helicopters.

The Helicopter Museum is only the 18th venue in the world to be accredited by the FAI. The ethos of the museum is to preserve its collections ‘in perpetuity’, ie, not just for now but forever. The museum offers a unique day out with an insight in to all aspects of rotorcraft. For more information www.helicoptermuseum.co.uk
